How do I upload an existing glossary?
To upload an existing glossary to your ProZ.com glossaries you will need to create the glossary first.
To do so, go to the ProZ.com personal glossaries section and click on the + icon next to "My glossaries"(on the right page column). Enter a name for your glossary and "Save" it.
Once your new glossary is created you will be provided with the option to "Import terms".
Some thins to keep in mind when importing terms into a glossary:
- Importing terms to a glossary only works with plain text, standard format glossary. Word documents, RTF files, or any format other than plain text will not work.
- The maximum allowed file size is 10MB. If you have a glossary file larger than 10MB, please break it up into smaller pieces. The pieces can still be placed into a single ProZ.com glossary by choosing an existing glossary instead of creating a new one; you just have to upload them separately.
- Glossary entries should be specified one-per-line, and in the form:
source term<DELIMITER>target term<DELIMITER>Notes<DELIMITER>URL<END OF LINE>
For example:
perro<DELIMITER>dog<DELIMITER>Basic definition<DELIMITER>https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dog<END OF LINE>
